Radhika Rao, Founder, Gartika

Radhika started her career as a graphic designer in India working for an international event management company, designing posters, newspaper ads, and concert tickets for music artists like the Deep Purple, Scorpions, Bryan Adams, the Rolling Stones and Elton John. Radhika went to the Griffith Business School in Australia for a master's degree in international relations where she learned about the ethical ways of doing international trade. A few years ago, Radhika also earned a scholarship management diploma from the Swedish Institute in the field of corporate social responsibility.
Soon after moving to United States, Radhika realized that if more people in the world started reviving ancient forms of manual skills and created a few exceptional products, then we would have subtle museum-like-moments  in our daily lives (these are those moments when you are enamored seeing a handmade piece from the historic era in a museum).
At Gartika words like 'slow fashion', 'eco', 'ethical', mean much more. It means we greatly respect the people who handcraft our products, we locally source our raw materials, we are against mass-production and we even celebrate irregularities in our range.
